The famous Salcedo Saturday Market has been around since 2005 and there’s no sign of slowing down.
Every Saturday, come rain or shine, the Jaime Velasquez Park in Salcedo Village, Makati City becomes a perfect spot for gourmet food, local and international snacks and organic fruits and vegetables. From seven in the morning until two in the afternoon, the park is teeming with people from all walks of life — there are those who love fresh produce supplied by different organic farms, foodies who love discovering hearty homemade meals, or vegans who just love to scour the market for nutritious finds – they all have a great time in this community market right in the heart of the financial district.

The Salcedo Saturday Market is a project under the helm of the Women of Bel-Air Foundation, Inc. For 14 good years, it has become a must-visit place by even non-Makati residents. City folks from as far as Alabang and other nearby cities flock to this outdoor shopping area tirelessly searching for unique, healthy and delicious wares.

Since becoming popular, identical weekend markets in other towns have followed suit, but Salcedo Saturday Market retains its frequent attendees. Who can resist the multitude of international cuisine being sold by the friendly food concessionaires in the park? There’s Thai, Japanese, Korean, Indian, Spanish and other enjoyable grubs . The market is also known as a haven for vegan food. Imagine different vegan options like homemade lasagna, various spreads, chips and milk, to name a few. Rows and rows of potted herbs are also up for sale; as well as fresh organic produce, meat and live seafood specials. Of course, overwhelming selections of desserts and native delicacies are also present every Saturday!
