People’s Park
A cultural theme park conceived by the current President Rodrigo Duterte, People’s Park Davao is one of the cleanest and greenest parks in the country. Covering an area of 4 hectares, did you know that this park is also one of the most expensive parks built in the Philippines? It is beautifully landscaped, with interesting sculptures that add to the charming visual of the park.

Davao Crocodile Park
The Crocodile Park is one of Davao City’s more popular tourist attractions which aims to promote public awareness and conservation efforts of saltwater and freshwater crocodiles.

Opened in 2005, it is now home to thousand of crocodiles and other animals like tigers, snakes and birds, to name a few. Aside from feeding the crocodiles, one can also indulge in koi and ostrich feeding and have a photograph taken with an albino python.

Philippine Eagle Center
A conservation and breeding facility for the endangered eagle, the Philippine Eagle Center or PEC, spread on an 8.4 hectare area, is a must-see tourist spot in Davao. A visit to the center is a worthwhile educational experience; aside from these mighty birds, the center also houses mammals, reptiles and other bird species.

Set in a tropical-like surroundings at the foothills of Mt. Apo, the center is a lovely place that can be enjoyed by all ages.

Davao Butterfly House
Another up and close adventure with nature is guaranteed inside this sanctuary — the Davao Butterfly House, one of the country’s preservation premises exhibiting beautiful, colorful live butterflies. Also a breeding area, the garden is set amidst lush vegetation where fishes and other exotic animals are also kept for viewing purposes.

Monfort Bat Sanctuary
Still on Samal Island is the biggest colony of fruit bats in the world, the Monfort Bat Sanctuary. The cave is home to millions of Geoffrey’s Rousette Fruit Bats; a Guiness Book of World Record title holder for the 2.5 million bats residing in the 75-meter long cave. The bats’ circadian flight at nightime is certainly an unforgettable and remarkable experience to witness.
